Grace was 10 weeks old on Saturday! Its amazing how much she has grown and changed in such a short time. We have already gone through 3 different formulas, but I think we finally found the right one. Sheesh! Grace also just started to sleep through the night. I dont want to jinx us, but she has been a very good sleeper so far and lately seems to be able to make it from 730pm – 630am. This is a good sign says the pediatrician!! Little Gracie is also starting to smile and its adorable. She is a very happy girl and loves to just hang out with us. She is actually very happy just hanging with Craig, he is like a big warm bear to cuddle on. In other news, I go back to work in a week. I cant believe the time is here already. I have been out since September and that is a long time. It will be an adjustment, but I am looking forward to getting back into the world. We have a wonderful daycare provider for Grace, she will be in a private home and very well taken care of. Of course I will be sad to leave her….but I know she is in good hands. Well, thats it for now. More pictures to come. Hopefully next weekend we will be going to visit friends in Pam Desert, Graces first weekend trip! Maybe a dip in the pool too, we shall see :)

Could she be any cuter!!!

Ok, so I am biased of course, but everyday she just gets more adorable and her personality is slowly emerging. We are all doing well and Grace has ‘woken up’ as they say. She is much more alert and aware of her surroundings and seems to really enjoy just hanging out with us. We have the bouncy chair and the swing and while they work for a few minutes, Gracie would much rather be on the couch propped up by pillows, sitting next to Craig or myself. Of course this will not work as she gets older and can move herself around!  In her crib at night, she is like Houdini…she breaks out of every swaddle blanket, including the velcro ones and the miracle blanket. Plus, she has a way of inching from top to bottom. It is pretty funny as we watch her in her sleep on our video monitor. Grace will be 8 weeks this Saturday and I cannot believe how fast the time has gone. She gets her first round of shots in a week! Yikes… Luckily my brother will be in town visiting so he can go with me and hold my hand :) Otherwise not to much new here. I go back to work in about 3 weeks and Craig has been back to work now for 2 weeks. We are all settling into our new life as a family and truly enjoying the time together.  I have posted some new photos and yes, she still looks exactly like Craig! Its pretty cute..

I  know its been a while since we have posted anything, but I promise we will get better at it! Grace will be 5 weeks old on Saturday and we cannot beleive it. She is a very healthy and happy little girl so far and she seems to be a very serious thinker!  So far she has a way of only liking the most expensive formula, bottles and diapers….this does not bode well for us as she gets older.  Although given my obsession with Manolo Blahniks, what do we expect. As for us parents, we are adjusting to less sleep, and the whirlwind that comes with parenthood, but Gracie is worth all of it.

Don’t ask Grace about Shiloh or Suri…she knows who’s number 1

February 10th, 2009 by thehillborns

number-1I wanted to post some new photos for the many excited fans that have written and called requesting new images of the latest superstar.  She has been steadily resting since ending her long journey of 9 months. Mom continues to be amazed at the size of Grace and how she ever fit inside “there”. Adjustments continue to be made all around the neighborhood in honor of Grace. Craig has already made several failed attempts to persuade the trash collectors to come at a more reasonable hour…like noon! He has also begun to ask each neighbor if they wouldn’t mind pushing their cars out of the driveway and starting them up further down the street so the princess (or Craig) can get more sleep.  Stay tuned as more drama and sleep deprivation will surely unfold.

39-weeks

Here is my final belly shot at 39 weeks. HUMONGOUS doesn’t begin to cover it!! :) I have a bit of a cold that I am trying to recover from so this will be brief. Baby Hillborn is set to arrive via C-section this Saturday, January 31 at 12:30pm.  I will probably be in the hospital about 3 or 4 days, but we will do our best to post a photo of the newest member of our family as soon as possible.  We are so very excited to meet our little person and to share the next chapter with all of you.

Full Term!!!!

January 12th, 2009 by thehillborns

37-weeks

Here is the latest and possibly the last photo. I am 37 weeks and considered Full Term!!! Baby could come at any time now and should be ok. I of course would like him to come ASAP because I am so big and so uncomfortable and so ready to meet him (or her).  Here is the latest baby news, I got official measurement’s and baby is 7 1/2 pounds. The best way to measure the baby is by the size of the stomach, not the head or femur. This is what my doctor says, but its a BIG baby. Also, baby is not in a good position for a regular delivery, while he is upside down, he is in a C and is facing out, so the likelihood he will shift and drop into the birth canal….;probably 2 percent. So, I will probably be having a C Section within the next 10 days. I go in on Wednesday for another checkup and stitch removal and we will probably pick a date to deliver the baby. Its so exciting and I cant wait!!!

In other updates, this past weekend was officially a year since my mom has been gone. It brings a whole new round of feelings because I am about to embark on the most exciting journey and I dont have her to share it with. Its so very strange that my life has continued and that it has really been a year without my mother. Craig and I celebrated her life and remembered her in ways that she would want. I continue to miss her everyday and am amazed at how it changes as life and time continue. She was so looking forward to being a grandmother….and along with grandma Mary they will both always be a part of our children’s lives and always be their grandmothers.  So, I end this update with a toast to Gavin! I ask all of you the next time you have a cocktail in hand to raise a glass to her and to really be thankful for all that you have in your life.  I know I am incredibly thankful for Craig and for all that we still have and for the arrival of the little Hillborn.

Merry Christmas! 35 weeks on Monday…

December 29th, 2008 by thehillborns

I just realized it has been a little while since my last update, so here we go. My brother and his wonderful girlfriend were here for the week of Christmas and just left this morning. It was so nice to see them both and we had a wonderful time. Unfortunately I cant do much, so we sent them top the Getty one day and out to dinner and made sure they took advantage of all tings LA has to offer. Luckily, they didn’t mind hanging out on the couch with me the first 2 days, since they were on vacation! :) For Christmas day we cooked a delicious dinner and toasted to a new year with good things to come for all of us. Of course we traded some hilarious stories about Gavin which I think was really helpful for Eric and I. Its a strange new reality we both are facing together because we just kept thinking, mom should be here.

As for Craig and I and Baby Hillborn, I will be 35 weeks tomorrow and we cannot believe its almost time. We are getting really excited to meet this little person. Baby is doing great and getting bigger everyday, which of course is making me more uncomfortable. But all for a good reason. I will now start going to see the doctor 2 times a week to watch everything and continue getting the baby’s weight and size. At this point, he is about 5 1/2  – 6 pounds and they are predicting an 8 or 9 pound  bambino!

Well Happy New Year to Everyone! We have friends coming into town from NY with their 9 month old little boy so we will be getting ready for them and having dinner and celebrating at the house.

Stay tuned for more updates next year!!

31 Weeks! The countdown begins

December 3rd, 2008 by thehillborns

Baby Hillborn and I are getting bigger by the day! I had a check up last week and all is well. Unfortunately my little bean is camera shy, so the ultrasound now looks like a big white circle where his head is. I opted for my belly shot, its more entertaining.  I have another check up tomorrow so maybe, just maybe we will get a good photo. Most importantly, my little bean is doing very well and is already measuring above average. We are going to have a big baby…yay for me!

I cant believe its already December. Last week was Thanksgiving and we had a great day. We went to our friend Sheri and Cam’s house, were we have have actually spent a few holidays.  I baked Sweet Potato Casserole with Marshmallows, which I do every year. Usually id call my mom and ask her how she made them, although the great thing about my mom, is that she rarely followed a recipe, she just winged it. Her food was always delicious.  I pretty much remembered what she told me from last year, bourbon, that was her secret. Of course I was a little sad a I was in the kitchen baking…. I still cant believe almost a year has gone by without her. I know she would be proud of me though. She always wanted me to live my life and be happy no matter what. So, I keep on living :) The Sweet Potatoes turned out delicious! Craig and I had leftovers for days. Actually Craig took all for last week off and it was very much needed.  He has really been doing so much this year and he needed and deserved a break, to just relax, sleep in and rejuvenate.  And, of course, the minute our little bean arrives, there will be no sleep and no relaxing!

Well, that’s it for now. Oh, I also included some new photos of the little ones room. We decided, ok well I decided I had to move everything around because I didn’t like the set up. We are still awaiting our slip cover for the couch and its driving me nuts we dont have it!  I know my mother would be laughing because its what she did all the time.
